The enchanting sea-side district in New Taipei is named after the Tamsui („fresh water“) river. It has become a popular place to escape from the jam-packed streets of Teipei. It attracts visitors with a beautiful sunset and delicious seafood along the docks at the Fisherman’s Wharf. The Tamsui Fishermans Wharf is constantly changing as new restaurants, hotels and buildings sprout off the soil. Irrespective of the growing tourism it has managed to keep the original atmosphere, because it is still used as a harbor for fishing boats.
